Practical Nurse – OPD Surgical – ENT Clinic

About the role

The Practical Nurse will deliver patient‑centered care in the Out‑Patient Department (OPD) of the Surgical ENT Clinic, working under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. The role supports the organisation’s mission, vision and values while adhering to the Abu Dhabi Nursing Code of Conduct.

Key responsibilities

• Assess and implement nursing care plans for patients under RN supervision.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living, including meal distribution and hygiene.
• Report any significant changes in patient condition to the RN immediately.
• Respond to emergencies according to clinic policies.
• Maintain accurate verbal and written communication and documentation with patients and their representatives.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure efficient, patient‑focused care.
• Document care and use electronic medical records appropriately.
• Support RNs and clerical staff with administrative duties as needed.
• Provide patients and families with comprehensive health information and resources.
• Uphold confidentiality and professional communication standards.
• Manage inventory of examination room supplies and prepare rooms for each patient encounter.
• Perform greeting, rooming, vital signs, and preparation for exams or procedures in the outpatient setting.

Required profile

• Practical Nurse qualification; not licensed for independent practice.
• Ability to work under RN supervision and take responsibility for own actions.
• Strong commitment to patient safety, confidentiality and professional ethics.
• Effective communication skills for interacting with patients, families and the care team.
• Willingness to participate in cost‑saving initiatives and resource optimisation.
