Pre KG Homeroom Teacher - English (September 2026)

About the role

GEMS Education is urgently hiring a Pre KG Homeroom Teacher for its English programme, starting in September 2026, based in Dubai. The teacher delivers the curriculum, supports students according to their individual needs and takes part in school life, co-curricular activities and parent communication.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver the required curriculum with accurate, up-to-date knowledge and plan and deliver quality lessons that cater to different learning styles
• Teach students according to their individual needs, including late-entering students, ESL learners, those with low academic ability and gifted and talented students
• Set and mark work, assess, record and report on students' academic progress and attainment
• Maintain records of curriculum and year plans, attendance, teaching resources and assessment plans
• Use media and technology in the classroom and promote students' well-being and cultural awareness
• Monitor and supervise student behaviour, and plan strategies to encourage self-discipline and manage disruptive behaviour
• Communicate with parents regularly about progress while respecting confidentiality, and liaise with external bodies such as Ministry of Education officials
• Take part in appraisal, performance management and continuing professional development, and help prepare teaching materials and pastoral arrangements
• Lead or take part in co-curricular and extra-curricular programmes and assist in organising school events
• Attend staff meetings, serve on committees and perform other duties requested by managers

Required profile

• Bachelor of Education in Early Years, or a bachelor's degree plus a teaching qualification (PGCE or KHDA-approved Teaching Diploma)
• Minimum 2 years of teaching in reputable schools, with experience in a homeroom or classroom setting for KG
• IELTS Academic score of 7.5
• Willingness to go beyond the typical work day when tasks require additional commitment
