Pre-Sales Technical Manager - Wireless Broadband & Microwave

About the role

The Pre-Sales Technical Manager leads the technical operations, engineering, solution design, deployment and support of wireless broadband and microwave transmission systems. It is a dual pre-sales and post-sales role: shaping and demonstrating winning solutions with the sales team, then staying involved through delivery by leading troubleshooting, software installation and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT). The work is hybrid or remote, with regular field visits to customer sites and possible travel.

Key responsibilities

• Lead bid management and prepare responses to RFPs and tenders; own technical solutions across the full project lifecycle.
• Design and review wireless broadband and microwave transmission solutions, and two-way radio communication systems.
• Conduct site surveys, RF coverage analysis and network planning, and prepare technical proposals, system architecture and engineering documentation.
• Work with the sales team to identify customer needs, run demonstrations, proof-of-concepts and technical consultations, and give customer training.
• Oversee installation, software installation, commissioning, troubleshooting and maintenance, and provide hands-on support for complex issues.
• Plan, conduct and host FAT with customers and ensure a smooth handover to ongoing service.
• Ensure compliance with telecommunications regulations and industry standards, and maintain quality-control processes and project documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Electronics, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 7-10 years' experience in wireless communications.
• Minimum 3-5 years in a pre-sales role.
• Strong knowledge of IP networking, RF propagation and coverage planning, dispatch and control-room solutions, and surveillance and public-safety solutions.

Required skills

• CCTV and surveillance networks, video management servers and storage.
• Wireless broadband PTP and PTMP, Wi-Fi, microwave backhauls, LTS networks, IP networks and MPLS.
• Two-way radio systems (DMR, TETRA, LTE / MCPTT) and CCTV and body-worn camera solutions.
• Wireless network design and frequency planning, RF engineering and troubleshooting, technical proposal preparation, project management, customer and vendor relationship management, and FAT procedures.
