Primary Social Studies Teacher (Local Candidates)

About the role

The Millennium School, part of GEMS Education, is looking for an enthusiastic, qualified and experienced Social Studies teacher for primary level. The post is open to local candidates and is advertised as a full-time position.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the curriculum and school standards.
• Teach core subjects using differentiated instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners.
• Use a range of teaching methods and resources, including digital tools and technology, to enhance learning.
• Incorporate critical thinking, problem-solving and inquiry-based learning strategies.
• Create a supportive, inclusive and stimulating environment that fosters independence, confidence and curiosity.
• Maintain accurate records of student achievement and prepare detailed progress reports.
• Establish clear classroom routines and high expectations for behaviour and academic work.
• Manage the classroom effectively to ensure safety, engagement, respect and positive learning behaviour.
• Follow school policies on discipline, safeguarding and student welfare, and build positive relationships with students.
• Take part in extracurricular activities, school events, assemblies and field trips, and ensure the safety and well-being of students at all times.

Required profile

• A recognized and relevant teaching qualification (BA, MA and B.Ed).
• Degree in Sociology and a Bachelor of Education are mandatory.
• Proven teaching experience of 2 years in the subject and strong subject knowledge.
• Experience in the CBSE curriculum.
• Effective classroom management and communication skills.
• UK-enhanced DBS or equivalent police check is a prerequisite; all successful applicants undergo safeguarding checks including identity, qualifications, employment history, references and criminal record checks.

• CBSE curriculum experience.
