About the role
ADASI, a leading aerospace company in Abu Dhabi, is looking for a Principal Embedded Engineer to design and maintain high‑performance embedded software for aerospace and UAV systems. The role focuses on safety‑critical, real‑time applications that support the company’s mission to improve airspace management.
Key responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and optimise embedded software in C/C++ for real‑time and safety‑critical platforms.
- Integrate software with hardware, sensors, and actuators, handling communication protocols such as SPI, I2C, UART, and CAN.
- Implement control algorithms and ensure compliance with aerospace standards (DO‑178C, DO‑254).
- Perform debugging, troubleshooting, and system testing using industry‑standard tools.
- Maintain technical documentation and support certification activities.
- Collaborate closely with hardware, systems, and quality‑assurance teams.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- 5–7+ years of experience in embedded software development.
- Strong problem‑solving abilities and teamwork skills.
Required skills
- Proficiency in C and C++.
- Experience with real‑time operating systems (FreeRTOS, VxWorks, QNX).
- Knowledge of hardware‑software integration and communication protocols (SPI, I2C, UART, CAN).
- Familiarity with aerospace safety standards (DO‑178C, DO‑254).
- Version control using Git and use of software debugging tools.
