Principal Engineer – ICT

About the role

Emirates is seeking a Principal Engineer – ICT to lead network and telecom practices at a group level. You will design, implement and optimise network and telecom strategies to improve efficiency, scalability and reliability across the airline’s global technology landscape.

Key responsibilities

• Develop robust, high‑quality IT solutions that meet customer requirements and align with corporate standards.
• Own, manage and maintain solution designs for large‑scale projects, products and platforms.
• Provide expert technical consultancy, lead technical design reviews and ensure compliance with architectural standards.
• Track technology innovations, update architecture guiding principles and manage end‑of‑life equipment replacement.

Required profile

• Degree in IT, Electrical, Telecommunications, Electronics, Computer Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years experience in ICT passive infrastructure design and implementation.
• Proven leadership of large‑scale enterprise, airport or mission‑critical infrastructure projects.
• Ability to coach and inspire a virtual team of at least 20 individuals.

Required skills

• Structured cabling and fibre optic network design.
• Server/hub room infrastructure expertise.
• Knowledge of TIA, ISO/IEC and BICSI standards (BICSI RCDD certification highly desirable).
• Network and telecom architecture, capacity planning and performance optimisation.
