Principal Rotating Engineer

About the role

The Principal Rotating Engineer will lead the design, selection and procurement of rotating equipment for on‑shore oil & gas projects. You will apply advanced engineering techniques, support business development and ensure technical excellence across the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Support business development by preparing proposals, estimating costs and presenting technical solutions.
• Manage discipline resources, mentor team members and ensure coverage for vacations and absences.
• Participate in project execution planning, coordinate with other disciplines and drive innovative solutions.
• Prepare engineering studies, calculations and final documentation for customer approval.
• Develop equipment specifications, datasheets and procurement packages; evaluate bids and manage vendor approvals.
• Provide on‑site support during construction, commissioning and turnover, resolving technical issues with site personnel.

Required profile

• 4‑ or 5‑year technical degree in engineering (mechanical or related) and active local engineering licence.
• Extensive experience in design and selection of rotating equipment for oil & gas, petrochemical or refinery projects.
• Proven experience in concept, FEED and detailed design, procurement and third‑party management, preferably in the Middle East.
• Strong knowledge of API standards (e.g., API‑610, 617, 618, 682, 614, 674, 675) and other international codes.

Required skills

• Design of gas turbines, centrifugal and rotary compressors, pumps, fans and related packages.
• Preparation of mechanical datasheets, specifications and material requisitions.
• Technical bid evaluation, vendor coordination and procurement support.
• Application of API standards and on‑shore engineering practices.
• Interdisciplinary coordination and document checking for compliance.
