Process Commissioning Superintendent – Offshore Water Injection

About the role

The Process Commissioning Superintendent will lead all commissioning activities for a major offshore water injection project in the UAE. Based initially in Abu Dhabi, the role will transition to the fabrication yard and later to the offshore site, ensuring safe and efficient startup of water injection facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and execute process commissioning from mechanical completion through startup and handover.
• Develop and implement commissioning execution plans, procedures and schedules.
• Oversee pre‑commissioning tasks such as hydro‑testing, flushing, cleaning, leak testing and system walkdowns.
• Lead startup of water injection, produced water treatment, chemical injection, utility, filtration and pumping packages.
• Manage brownfield modifications, tie‑ins and SIMOPS with existing offshore operations.
• Ensure strict HSE and process safety compliance, including HAZID, HAZOP and PSSR activities.
• Coordinate with operations for readiness, training and final handover of the facility.
• Supervise vendor specialists and contractor teams, resolve technical issues and maintain commissioning documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Process or Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 18 years of oil & gas experience, including at least 8 years in commissioning and startup leadership.
• Extensive offshore EPC commissioning experience, preferably with ADNOC projects.
• Proven ability to manage multidisciplinary teams during offshore facility startups.

• Expertise in water injection, produced water treatment, utility, chemical injection and process control systems.
• Strong knowledge of process safety management, HSE procedures and SIMOPS coordination.
