Process Engineer - SMT

About the role

The Process Engineer – SMT PCBA will be responsible for setting‑up, validating, maintaining and continuously improving all surface‑mount technology (SMT) equipment and related manufacturing processes at Eaton’s new Dubai campus. The role ensures production quality, supports new product introductions and transfers, and drives operational excellence in line with Eaton’s safety and sustainability standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, deliver and maintain work instructions for operators and maintenance teams covering SMT equipment operation and PCBA‑specific processes.
• Lead prototype manufacturing for NPI and transferred PCBA projects, applying statistical analysis and engineering expertise.
• Support the Industrialization Program Manager with process flow charts, PFMEA, PPAP and other ProLaunch deliverables.
• Participate in DFM reviews with R&D to optimise PCB/PCBA design for manufacturability, yield and reliability.
• Implement ECO/MCO changes, track and improve line cycle times, and update SMT RCCP schedules.
• Manage tool procurement (stencils, printing supports, nozzles) and programme/setup of SMT equipment such as DMC laser, solder paste printing, 3D SPI, reflow and 3D AOI.
• Assist with customer audits and plant quality certification programmes at the SMT level.

Required profile

• Proven experience in SMT PCBA manufacturing environments.
• Familiarity with new product introduction, transfer projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ability to work closely with R&D and industrialisation teams.
