Procurement Buyer

About the role

Electra is looking for a Procurement Buyer to source, purchase and manage materials, products and services for projects across the GCC. The role works closely with project, production and store teams to ensure timely delivery, cost efficiency and quality compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and evaluate suppliers for materials, equipment and services, ensuring they meet project specifications and quality standards.
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms and delivery schedules to achieve cost‑effective procurement.
• Prepare, issue and track purchase orders, maintaining accurate documentation and records.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, monitor performance and resolve any disputes or quality issues.
• Monitor procurement costs against budgets, analyse purchase trends and propose cost‑saving opportunities.
• Coordinate with project, production and stores teams to understand material requirements and provide status updates.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, legal and regulatory requirements, and verify received materials meet quality specifications.

Required profile

• 3–6 years of experience in procurement or buying, preferably in construction, fit‑out, manufacturing, logistics or events.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Procurement or a related field; professional certifications such as CIPS are a plus.
• Proven negotiation, sourcing and vendor‑management experience.
• Strong analytical, reporting and decision‑making abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word and Outlook.
• Experience with ERP or procurement software such as SAP, Oracle or Odoo.
