Procurement COE Specialist

About the role

Abu Dhabi Ports Company is looking for a Specialist in its Procurement Centre of Excellence (COE) in Abu Dhabi. The role supports excellence in procurement processes, strategies and practices so that procurement objectives are achieved.

Key responsibilities

• Implement strategic initiatives that improve procurement effectiveness and efficiency.
• Optimize end-to-end procurement processes, including purchase requisitions and contract management, and recommend workflow improvements.
• Update procurement user guides, manuals and scopes of work for completeness and consistency.
• Use procurement technology to streamline processes, increase visibility and reduce discrepancies.
• Identify and assess procurement risks and put in place mitigation plans.
• Research and benchmark procurement best practices to raise current processes.
• Track supplier performance and resolve problems and concerns.
• Register and prequalify contractors and suppliers not yet in the Commercial Directory, and maintain the database of qualified suppliers.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration or a related field; a Master's degree is a plus.
• Minimum 4-6 years of experience in a similar role.
• In-depth knowledge of procurement regulations and industry standards.
• Ability to understand strategic issues and see the organization as a whole.
• Strong negotiation, relationship management, analytical and research skills, and strong interpersonal and leadership skills, including building high-performance teams.
• Cultural sensitivity and adaptability.
