Procurement Manager - Construction

About the role

This role owns the construction category strategy, sourcing and procurement execution for general contractors and associated works across multiple regional markets. It delivers competitive, well-defined contracts and supplier performance for development and other CAPEX projects, and independently manages third-party technical audits of contractor execution, evaluates reports impartially and recommends clearance to the approving authority.

Key responsibilities

• Develop category plans, sourcing calendars, regional contractor panels and savings initiatives, and assess contractor capability and capacity
• Lead tenders, normalize bids and evaluate them, then negotiate and prepare award recommendations
• Review commercial variations and claims, and agree milestones, warranties, insurance and performance protections with Legal, Finance and project teams
• Provide sourcing outcomes to PR/PO teams, monitor contractor performance and maintain sourcing records and contract coverage
• Define and run independent technical audits, manage audit providers, evaluate reports and drive evidence-based closure of findings
• Prepare clearance recommendations and report savings, contractor risk and audit coverage to senior stakeholders
• Lead and coach the designated procurement team members

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Architecture or a related discipline
• 8-10 years of experience in construction procurement, contractor sourcing or commercial management
• Proven experience leading general-contractor, civil, MEP, fit-out or related tenders, negotiations and contract management
• Experience managing technical inspection/audit providers and driving defect or non-conformance closure
• Multi-site restaurant, retail, hospitality or comparable regional project exposure and people-management experience
• Preferred: procurement, quantity-surveying or project-management certification
