Product Manager II – Financial Crime Operations

About the role

Kraken’s Compliance Operations team is looking for a Product Manager to own the investigation platform that powers alert ingestion, case management and investigator tooling. You will shape how alerts are created, enriched, grouped, suppressed and turned into actionable cases, ensuring every step meets regulatory and audit standards.

Key responsibilities

• Own the investigation‑platform roadmap end‑to‑end, define “done”, write phased deliverables and acceptance criteria, and defend scope.
• Gather requirements before engineering starts, build intake between compliance policy, monitoring rules and case management, and ensure workflow readiness.
• Understand and reconcile policy, SOPs, and actual investigator behavior; distinguish process fixes from technical fixes.
• Manage the data pipeline – ingestion, profile and transaction resolution, suppression, grouping, and vendor output reconciliation – and be able to walk an auditor through it.
• Make auditability a first‑class requirement, including audit trail, data lineage, evidence retention, reviewer attribution and change‑management controls.
• Ship automation and AI into regulated workflows with human‑in‑the‑loop design, explainability and ongoing monitoring.
• Run the operating rhythm with shared forums, stakeholder updates and unified delivery status.

Required profile

• 4+ years of product management experience, including 2+ years on financial‑crime systems such as transaction monitoring, investigations, case management, KYC/EDD or sanctions screening.
• Working knowledge of AML programme examination and regulator, audit and model validation expectations.
• Technical fluency to dive deep into data flows and system design with engineers.
• Track record of shipping internal tools or operational platforms that measurably changed how an operations team works.
• Clear, concise writing for PRDs, phase plans, audit walkthroughs and executive updates.
• Judgement to communicate realistic timelines to senior stakeholders while preserving relationships.
