Production Planning Engineer – Luxury Furniture

About the role

Black Pearl is seeking an experienced Production Planning Engineer to lead the planning of luxury furniture manufacturing. You will translate confirmed orders, shop drawings and material availability into detailed, machine‑to‑machine production schedules that meet project delivery dates.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare master production plans based on orders, drawings, material status and contractual delivery dates.
• Break down each order into stages such as CNC cutting, edge banding, veneering, carpentry, upholstery, metal fabrication and final assembly.
• Develop daily and weekly machine‑loading schedules, allocate jobs by capacity, manpower and delivery priority.
• Calculate production capacity, cycle times, manpower needs and expected output for each work centre.
• Identify bottlenecks, material shortages or overloaded machines and propose corrective actions.
• Coordinate with Technical, Procurement, Stores, Production, Quality, Projects and Logistics teams.
• Monitor actual output versus plan, issue variance reports and re‑sequence production when needed.
• Maintain visibility of WIP, dispatch readiness and establish production KPIs.

Required profile

• 5–8 years of production planning experience in joinery, bespoke or loose‑furniture manufacturing.
• Hands‑on knowledge of joinery machinery, CNC operations and upholstery processes.
• Strong understanding of factory workflow, capacity management and project delivery requirements.
