Professional IT Business Application Specialist

About the role

The Professional Information Technology (Business Application) role is based at NDB Headquarters in Shanghai. It focuses on implementing, enhancing, and supporting the bank’s business solutions while ensuring alignment with international standards and internal policies.

Key responsibilities

• Support institutional application systems such as HR, compliance, internal service portal, digital workflow, procurement and collaboration tools.
• Design, deploy and continuously improve applications to meet evolving business requirements.
• Provide production support, troubleshooting and user assistance to maintain system stability.
• Ensure all solutions comply with international best practices, regulatory frameworks and internal governance.
• Act as a liaison between business units and technology teams, identifying state‑of‑the‑art processes and solutions.
• Design, source, implement and maintain cost‑optimized solutions with sound business acumen.
• Engage stakeholders to understand needs, negotiate requirements and present effective solutions.
• Identify process improvement opportunities and develop technology interventions.
• Prepare clear documentation and communicate requirements to internal and external parties.

Required profile

• Proven experience in implementing and supporting business applications within a banking or financial institution.
• Familiarity with international best practices, regulatory frameworks and internal governance.
• Ability to bridge business and technology units and translate needs into technical solutions.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities.
• Experience in stakeholder negotiation, requirement gathering and solution presentation.
• Capability to design cost‑optimized, future‑proof solutions.
