Project Architect

About the role

Decision Management Consultants is recruiting a Project Architect for a client, an architectural consultancy based in Dubai, UAE. The firm delivers innovative, functional and sustainable design solutions, covering architectural planning, design development, authority approvals and project coordination for residential and mixed-use developments. The role acts as the technical and regulatory liaison between the design and construction teams and government authorities.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure design decisions comply with local authority regulations before submission.
• Prepare, review and coordinate drawing sets and documentation for building permit, planning approval and NOC (No Objection Certificate) applications.
• Submit applications through authority portals (municipal, civil defense, utility providers) and track their progress.
• Address Requests for Additional Information (RAI) and plan review comments promptly.
• Attend pre-application meetings, technical review sessions and inspection walkthroughs with authorities; justify design deviations or seek variances when code compliance conflicts with project objectives.
• Document meeting minutes and track authority decisions.
• Communicate authority requirements to structural, MEP and other discipline architects and engineers.
• Schedule and accompany authority inspectors during on-site inspections.
• Obtain completion certificates, occupancy permits or operational licenses.
• Maintain organized records of all authority submissions, approvals, correspondence and permit conditions.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture.
• 5-10 years of experience in an architectural firm.
• Experience serving as the technical and regulatory liaison between the design/construction team and government authorities.
• Valid Dubai Municipality (DM) Architect approval/registration for G+2 or G+4 projects.
