Project Manager - Reciprocating Compressors

About the role

Burckhardt Compression is looking for an experienced Project Manager to join its SYST Division in Dubai, UAE. The role leads the execution of complex reciprocating compressor projects across the Middle East region, from contract award through commissioning and final handover. It calls for a strong leader who manages international stakeholders and balances technical and commercial priorities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead reciprocating compressor package projects from order intake to final handover, meeting contractual, technical, schedule, quality and financial targets.
• Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, budgets and resource plans; monitor performance and take corrective action.
• Act as main customer contact, build customer relationships and lead review meetings, progress updates and contractual discussions.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams across countries and time zones, and manage interfaces between engineering centers, manufacturing, procurement, quality, logistics and field service.
• Manage scope, variations, claims and contractual obligations, and identify and mitigate project risks.
• Protect profitability through commercial management and change control, and support invoicing, cash collection and financial forecasting.
• Oversee procurement, monitor manufacturing progress, coordinate inspections, factory acceptance tests and shipment readiness, and ensure compliance with quality standards and industry requirements.
• Promote a culture of safety, quality, accountability and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or process engineering or similar.
• At least 3 years of experience in a similar business; MBA or PMP certification is an advantage.
• Fluent English, oral and written at business and contractual level.
• Able to travel up to 30% of the time, domestically and internationally.
• Self-motivated, quality-oriented team player.

Required skills

• Knowledge of rotating equipment and/or related processes is beneficial.
• Ability to handle application-oriented, self-directed tasks such as studying relevant literature.
