Purchase Officer - MEP & Fit Out Procurement

About the role

Jeet MEP Electromechanical Works LLC, part of SEE Engineering, is looking for a Purchase Officer to support the procurement needs of its MEP and Fit Out divisions. With upcoming projects and an expected rise in procurement activity, the officer will coordinate material procurement, obtain quotations, evaluate suppliers, process purchase orders and ensure materials and equipment arrive on time. The role is shared equally between MEP and Fit Out projects and is primarily office-based, with occasional site visits.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate procurement of materials, equipment and services for MEP and Fit Out projects according to project requirements and schedules.
• Review material requests and specifications with project, technical and site teams.
• Source suppliers, obtain quotations and prepare comparison statements for approval.
• Evaluate suppliers on price, quality, delivery and payment terms and negotiate for cost efficiency.
• Prepare and process purchase orders within company procedures and approval limits, and follow up on confirmations, delivery schedules and documentation.
• Work with stores, site teams and logistics so materials are delivered on schedule, and check that purchases match approved submittals, specifications and quantities.
• Resolve supplier issues such as discrepancies, damages, returns and delays.
• Maintain an up-to-date supplier database and coordinate with the Accounts team on invoices and payments.
• Keep accurate procurement records, prepare regular status reports and ensure compliance with company policies and IMS procedures.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 3 to 5 years of procurement experience in the UAE construction, MEP or fit-out industry.
• Established network of UAE suppliers for MEP and fit-out materials.
• Preferred: professional procurement certification (e.g. CIPS), experience as an MEP or fit-out contractor, and a valid UAE driving licence.

Required skills

• Good knowledge of MEP and interior fit-out materials, equipment and products.
• Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
• Ability to read material specifications and understand submittal requirements.
• Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel, and experience with ERP or procurement systems.
• Organised, detail-oriented, able to handle several purchase requests under tight deadlines and to communicate across diverse teams.
