QA/QC Engineer (Infrastructure)

About the role

The QA/QC Engineer implements, monitors and maintains quality assurance and quality control procedures for infrastructure projects, ensuring construction activities comply with approved drawings, project specifications, method statements, quality standards and authority requirements. The role suits candidates with hands-on QA/QC experience in infrastructure and civil construction, especially roads, utilities, drainage, sewerage and related works.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and monitor project-specific QA/QC plans and conduct regular site inspections.
• Supervise and inspect civil and infrastructure works such as road construction, earthworks, excavation, backfilling and compaction, stormwater drainage, sewerage, water supply networks and underground utilities.
• Review and verify Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), method statements and quality documentation.
• Coordinate with site engineers, contractors, subcontractors, consultants and clients on inspection requests and quality approvals.
• Prepare, review and submit Material Inspection Requests (MIRs), Work Inspection Requests (WIRs/IRs) and other quality documents.
• Ensure materials meet specifications and coordinate material testing with approved laboratories; monitor field and laboratory tests such as soil compaction, field density, concrete, asphalt and aggregate testing.
• Raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), Site Observation Reports (SORs) and corrective action requests, follow up on corrective and preventive actions and close NCRs on time.
• Maintain quality records, inspection and test reports, material approvals and project quality documentation.
• Conduct internal quality audits and ensure compliance with ISO 9001 requirements.
• Monitor subcontractor quality performance and prepare regular quality reports for the QA/QC Manager and Project Manager.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum 5-8 years of QA/QC experience in the construction industry.
• Hands-on experience with infrastructure contractors, main contractors or civil construction companies.
• Experience in roads, utilities, drainage, sewerage, stormwater and water supply networks is highly preferred.
• UAE/GCC infrastructure project experience is mandatory.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of QA/QC procedures, ITPs, method statements and inspection requirements.
• ISO 9001 quality management awareness.
