QC Inspector - Welding & Structural (Offshore)

About the role

SGS, a global testing, inspection and certification company, is hiring an experienced QC Inspector for welding and structural work on offshore projects. The inspector carries out inspections during fabrication, assembly and installation of offshore topsides and jackets.

Key responsibilities

• Perform welding and structural inspections during fabrication, assembly and installation activities.
• Verify compliance with approved WPS, ITPs, drawings and project specifications.
• Monitor and witness NDT activities and coordinate with NDT contractors.
• Ensure fabrication complies with international codes and standards (AWS D1.1, ASME, EEMUA 158).
• Inspect offshore topside and jacket fabrication, including fit-up, welding and dimensional checks.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
• 10+ years of total experience, including 5+ years after CSWIP / AWS qualification.
• Proven experience in offshore topside and jacket fabrication.
• CSWIP 3.1 / 3.2 certificates and AWS certification (mandatory).

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of welding inspection, structural fabrication and NDT coordination.
• Familiarity with offshore codes and standards (AWS D1.1, EEMUA 158, ASME).
