Quality Assurance / Quality Control Inspector – Waterproofing

About the role

Azizi is seeking an experienced QA/QC Inspector with a strong background in waterproofing to oversee and verify waterproofing works across its building construction projects in Dubai. The role ensures that all waterproofing systems meet approved specifications, manufacturer requirements, and UAE authority standards for long‑term durability and zero water ingress.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect and monitor waterproofing works in substructures, basements, wet areas, roofs, podiums, terraces and other critical zones.
• Review and verify method statements, material submittals, shop drawings and inspection & test plans (ITPs) for waterproofing.
• Check surface preparation, including substrate condition, moisture levels, priming, curing and cleanliness before application.
• Witness and record flood tests, water ponding tests, adhesion tests and maintain test records.
• Inspect critical detailing such as joints, laps, upturns, drains, penetrations, expansion joints and terminations.
• Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, material suppliers and manufacturer representatives.
• Prepare daily and weekly inspection reports and quality progress updates for the QA/QC Manager/Resident Engineer.
• Support handover documentation, including warranties, test certificates and as‑built records.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• At least 8 years of QA/QC experience with substantial hands‑on waterproofing inspection.
• Proven experience on building construction projects in the UAE (residential, commercial or high‑rise).
• Familiarity with Dubai Municipality regulations and UAE construction standards.

Required skills

• Knowledge of waterproofing systems: bituminous and torch‑applied membranes, liquid‑applied and cementitious waterproofing, PVC/TPO/HDPE membranes, polyurethane coatings.
• Experience with flood testing procedures, ITPs, NCR processes and quality documentation.
• Ability to inspect incoming materials, verify storage conditions, shelf life, batch numbers and certifications.
