Quality Assurance Specialist

About the role

The Quality Assurance Specialist reports to the Manager - Quality Control and supports quality control activities across production, warehouse and logistics operations. The role covers food safety management systems, product specifications, audit documentation and support for customer complaints.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Manager-QC in implementing the Food Safety Management System (BRC/FSSC 22000/HACCP and other audit systems) across the factory.
• Prepare product specifications for all manufacturing items according to country requirements, including new launches.
• Provide on-the-job training to production and warehouse staff and help manage customer and internal complaints, logging them and following up on corrective and preventive actions.
• Ensure documents for third-party audits (HACCP, FSSC 22000, BRC, organic, halal, Dubai municipality, SFDA, USFDA, supplier and customer audits) are ready.
• Supervise QC supervisors' work on storage control, CCP monitoring, production checks, label checks and incoming/outgoing items.
• Prepare labels, pictures, ingredient and nutrition facts for products, and support the preparation and review of process flow diagrams.
• Prepare trend analysis reports on customer complaints, microbiological analysis and environmental monitoring, and run mock recall tests on finished products.
• Keep pest control and cleaning chemical documents (MSDS, DM approval, approved chemical list) in place and follow up on product registration with logistics.
• Collect and file supplier documents for raw and packaging materials, and prepare QA documents for customer requests.

Required profile

• At least 7 years of experience in the food industry, including at least 3 years in a Quality Specialist position.
• At least 2 years in a BRCGS/FSSC 22000 V6 certified company.
• Undergraduate or master's degree in microbiology or another food science field.
• BRCGS Lead Auditor or Internal Auditor certification, and FSSC 22000 V6 Lead Auditor or Internal Auditor certification.
• HALAL and organic training certificates.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English; UAE driving licence.
