Quantity Surveyor - Firefighting and Fire Alarm Systems

About the role

A full-time Quantity Surveyor is sought for the Maintenance Department, with experience in cost estimation, quantity take-off, BOQ preparation and cost control for firefighting and fire alarm maintenance works. The position is based in Dubai.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed Bills of Quantities (BOQ), quantity take-offs, cost estimates and pricing schedules for maintenance works.
• Review work orders, scope of work, drawings, specifications and technical documents to ensure accurate quantity measurements.
• Prepare cost estimates and monitor project budgets to ensure cost efficiency.
• Maintain records of quantities, material rates, labour costs and other project-related expenses.
• Identify additional works, prepare variation orders and assist with claims and extension-of-time documentation.
• Coordinate with the Maintenance, Project, Procurement and Finance teams on material requirements and cost matters.
• Prepare cost reports and keep accurate documentation for ongoing and completed maintenance works.
• Ensure all estimates and BOQs comply with project specifications and technical requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 1-2 years of experience in quantity surveying, preferably in firefighting, fire alarm or fire protection systems.
• Experience in BOQ preparation, quantity take-off, cost estimation and cost control.
• Knowledge of NFPA standards and UAE Civil Defence (DCD) requirements is an advantage.
• Good analytical, communication, coordination and documentation skills.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
