Quantity Surveyor - Steel Structure, Warehouse & Villa Construction

About the role

A client is looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor with a strong background in warehouse construction, pre-engineered buildings (PEB), steel structures and villa construction. The role covers cost estimation, BOQ preparation, contract administration and project cost control within the UAE construction industry.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare cost estimates, Bills of Quantities (BOQs) and tender documents for warehouse, PEB, steel structure, villa and commercial building projects.
• Measure and evaluate completed site works and prepare interim payment certificates.
• Manage variations, claims and final project accounts.
• Review subcontractor and supplier quotations, compare prices and negotiate competitive rates.
• Monitor project costs against approved budgets and report cost variances.
• Prepare and submit RFIs, payment applications and procurement schedules.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers and site teams on commercial and contractual matters.
• Assist in tender preparation, including quantity take-offs, cost breakdowns and responses to tender RFIs.
• Maintain records of material quantities, labour costs, subcontractor expenses and project expenditures.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, contract requirements and applicable FIDIC conditions.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of quantity surveying experience in the UAE construction industry.
• Proven experience in warehouse, PEB, steel structure and villa construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of FIDIC contracts, BOQ preparation, cost estimation and cost control.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, analytical and problem-solving skills, and ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Excel and basic AutoCAD.
• Experience with QS software such as CostX, Candy or similar tools.
