Recreation Attendant

About the role

Anantara Mina Al Arab Ras Al Khaimah Resort is looking for a Recreation Attendant to help run its Sports & Recreation department on a day-to-day basis. The role aims to deliver high guest satisfaction through new, engaging activities and a safe, well-maintained sports and leisure offering.

Key responsibilities

• Create new, unique activities drawing on the cultural, sporting and other local offerings of the area.
• Ensure outsourced services meet maintenance standards and that all activities are carried out safely with proper safety techniques.
• Lead the implementation of health and safety codes, including taking full care of children and executing the Minor Hotels Children programme.
• Use qualified attendants where required (fitness leaders, aerobic instructors, lifeguards).
• Monitor activity programmes through participant numbers and guest feedback, and adjust them to keep them high quality and fun.
• Prepare and share event information with guests together with the concierge, and promote the spa to maximise guest satisfaction and revenue.
• Keep gym, sport, water sports and other equipment clean and well maintained, and in the gym motivate guests to reach their fitness goals.
• Maintain a guest file in the gym to track fitness progress, and follow accounting procedures when charging fees.
• Drive department revenue, perform related duties and special projects as assigned, and adapt to other requests from management.

Required profile

• Previous experience in recreation.
• Good verbal communication and interpersonal skills; friendly and professional with guests.
• Knowledge of basic safety procedures and ability to respond to emergencies.
• Ability to stand for long periods and work effectively with other staff.
• Excellent English; additional languages are an advantage.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of recreational equipment and facility maintenance.
