Recreation Shift Leader

About the role

Serve as the primary point of contact for all guest recreation activities at the hotel, providing information on facilities such as pools, beach, fitness centre and children’s activities. You will encourage participation, ensure safety, and create a fun, relaxing atmosphere for guests.

Key responsibilities

• Promote and register guests for recreation programs, schedule activities and manage group events.
• Provide information on all recreation facilities and enforce rules for safety and welfare.
• Respond to emergencies according to local procedures and assist injured guests until medical help arrives.
• Handle point‑of‑sale transactions, process payments for rentals, activities and retail sales.
• Assist with private functions, set up equipment and supervise group activities.
• Maintain cleanliness and upkeep of facilities, equipment and supplies.
• Report accidents, injuries and unsafe conditions to management and complete required safety training.
• Deliver courteous guest service, support guests with disabilities and uphold company appearance standards.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• CPR and First Aid certification (or other certifications required by local authorities).
• No prior recreation or supervisory experience required.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lb unaided and heavier items with assistance.
• Willingness to stand, walk and work on varied surfaces for an entire shift.
