Refrigeration & HVAC Technician

About the role

Marriott Al Forsan in Abu Dhabi is looking for a Refrigeration & HVAC Technician. The role covers responding to guest repair requests, performing preventive maintenance on tools and equipment, and carrying out basic repairs and housekeeping-related engineering tasks while following safety and service standards.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to guest repair requests and communicate with guests to resolve maintenance issues
• Perform preventive maintenance on tools, kitchen and mechanical room equipment, including cleaning and lubrication
• Visually inspect tools, equipment and machines, identify and operate shut-off valves and utility shut-offs
• Maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies
• Communicate daily activities and problems to other shifts using approved communication programs
• Test, troubleshoot and perform basic repairs on equipment, plumbing (plunge toilets, unclog drains), electrical components, lamps, switches and outlets, and other guestroom items
• Replace A/C filters, paint, do minor drywall and wood trim repair, and clean up work areas
• Program TVs, perform general housekeeping and engineering inventory duties, and use the Lockout/Tagout system
• Repair interior and exterior landscaping and sprinklers
• Enter air handler schedules and make temperature changes on a computer
• Welcome guests, respect confidentiality, follow safety policies and complete safety training

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
• Some experience in general maintenance, surface preparation and painting
• Hotel engineering or maintenance experience is a plus
• No supervisory experience required
• Driver's license

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of air conditioning and refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems and controls, carpentry and finish skills, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation and building basics
• Basic computer skills, including inputting air handler schedules
