Registered Nurse - ICU

About the role

Royal Khalifa City Hospital Abu Dhabi is recruiting a Registered Nurse for its ICU. The nurse works within the scope of practice, putting the health, wellbeing and safety of patients first, and coordinates patient care, education and support for patients and families.

Key responsibilities

• Assess and identify patients' needs, perform systematic assessments and re-assessments, and create and evaluate care plans with the interprofessional team
• Record vital signs, recognise and escalate abnormalities, and administer medications, IV fluids and blood products while monitoring for reactions
• Perform wound care, assist in invasive and non-invasive procedures, and help with admission, transfer and discharge
• Provide pre- and post-operative care, and assist with ICU procedures such as line insertion, CRRT, haemodialysis, tracheostomy and cardiac output monitoring
• Prepare patients for examinations and treatments, and act as transport nurse during ambulance transfers
• Take part in CPR and Code Blue, and maintain accurate patient documentation
• Use equipment economically and help the head nurse keep ward stock at an appropriate level

Required profile

• Valid license to work as a registered nurse in the relevant regulatory authority, with qualifications and experience matching the mandate
• Own responsibility for professional re-licensure
• Valid American Heart Association Basic Life Support provider card
• Clear spoken and written English; Arabic communication is desirable
• Willingness to work across departments when necessary

• Ability to use the electronic medical record platform for clinical documentation
• Organisational and administrative skills
