Reliability Engineer - High Voltage

About the role

The EMSTEEL Asset Reliability Engineer is accountable for driving asset reliability performance and maintaining high reliability for plant and associated equipment. The role develops cost-effective asset strategies, maintains asset reliability standards, systems and strategies, and builds continuous improvement through engineering inspections and compliance with industry standards.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse maintenance data, operator route data and equipment work histories to recommend improvements
• Lead root cause failure analysis and RCM/FMECA workshops, and drive actions to prevent recurrence
• Develop and run equipment maintenance strategies, review equipment "bad actors" monthly and set action plans
• Take part in capital projects, shutdowns and breakdowns, and prepare cost and schedule estimates
• Optimise critical spares inventory and ensure new assets are designed for reliability and ready at commissioning
• Train staff on reliability and maintenance standards and best practice
• Manage the 10-year capital plan and recommend capital expenditure aligned with asset life
• Support the annual OPEX and CAPEX budgets for reliability-related cost centres
• Monitor reliability KPIs such as MTBF, MTTR, plant availability and RCA completion, and drive continuous improvement
• Lead on safety, quality and environment, including audits and closure of HSE actions

Required profile

• University degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
• 5 years of mechanical/electrical maintenance experience in an integrated steel plant or equivalent industry
• Preferred: CMRP, CRE, CRL or CRP certification
• Preferred: experience in the Middle East and in integrated steelworks
• Integrity, ethics and a team-oriented approach
