Resident Engineer – Civil (Overhead Transmission Line)

About the role

The Resident Engineer – Civil will lead all civil aspects of overhead transmission line (OHL) projects from initiation through close‑out, ensuring they meet schedule, budget, and quality targets. You will act as the on‑site technical authority, coordinating with internal teams, contractors, and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technical leader on‑site for EPC civil works, supervising contractors and daily OHL construction activities.
• Inspect and approve earthworks, tower foundations, access roads, and drainage in line with drawings, method statements and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).
• Review and approve civil drawings, shop drawings, material submittals and geotechnical reports.
• Ensure strict compliance with HSE standards and UAE/TAQA safety regulations.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, attend progress meetings and produce daily/weekly reports.
• Manage permits/NOCs, RFIs and NCRs, and maintain comprehensive site documentation.
• Procure materials, equipment and services through coordination with suppliers and vendors.
• Conduct regular site inspections, HSE audits, quality checks and resolve construction issues promptly.
• Verify as‑built documents, certify measurements, and lead the project close‑out process.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering (Master’s preferred).
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
• Minimum 15 years of civil engineering experience, specifically on overhead transmission line projects.
• Deep knowledge of transmission line design, construction, maintenance and tower configurations.
• Proficiency with engineering software such as PLS‑CA.
