Resident Engineer

About the role

The Resident Engineer will be based in Abu Dhabi and will provide on‑site installation, commissioning, preventive maintenance and technical support for multi‑function printers, scanners and related document‑management equipment at customer locations.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure, commission and test new MFPs, printers and scanners at client sites.
• Perform preventive maintenance and routine inspections to avoid equipment failures.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware and software faults, including analysis of error codes.
• Repair or replace defective components, consumables and assemblies.
• Install and update firmware, drivers and embedded software according to customer requirements.
• Respond to breakdown/service calls and meet agreed service level agreements.
• Maintain accurate records of parts used, service activities and complete service reports in the management system.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Computer Engineering, IT or a related technical field.
• 2–5 years of experience with printers, MFPs, copiers, scanners, basic network troubleshooting and MPS software.
• Proven ability to minimise repair costs through effective troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.
• Strong focus on customer satisfaction and achievement of service KPIs.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of Multi‑Function Printers (MFPs) and related document‑management equipment.
• Understanding of TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS and network printing concepts.
• Basic network troubleshooting and Windows printing environment expertise.
• Experience with printer drivers, firmware installation and embedded software updates.
• Ability to analyse machine error codes and perform corrective actions.
