Restaurant General Manager - Sports Bar

About the role

InterContinental Abu Dhabi is looking for an energetic, commercially driven and guest-focused Restaurant General Manager to lead its Sports Bar. The role suits a hospitality professional who thrives in a lively environment, inspires high-performing teams and drives revenue and operational performance.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the Sports Bar, ensuring efficient service, smooth coordination and adherence to hotel standards.
• Lead, motivate and develop the Food & Beverage team, and oversee staffing, scheduling and training.
• Ensure outstanding service standards and handle guest feedback and complaints promptly.
• Drive revenue through sales strategies, promotions, upselling and engaging food and beverage offerings.
• Monitor financial performance, including revenue, profitability, labour and beverage costs.
• Plan live sports screenings, themed events and promotions, and collaborate with the Executive Chef on menu quality.
• Work with Sales and Marketing on promotional campaigns and with the Executive Chef on menu quality.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, health and safety, licensing and hotel procedures, and accurate billing and cash handling.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Restaurant General Manager, Restaurant Manager or in a similar leadership role in a busy restaurant, sports bar or high-volume F&B operation.
• Proven ability to drive revenue, manage budgets and control costs.
• Experience planning promotions, entertainment activities or major sporting event operations is an advantage.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, public holidays and major sporting events.
• Proficiency in English; additional languages are an advantage.

Required skills

• Excellent knowledge of food and beverage operations, bar service and service standards.
• Strong leadership, team management, communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Good knowledge of food safety, hygiene and health and safety requirements.
