Reverse Osmosis Design Engineer

About the role

MENA-Water is looking for a Reverse Osmosis Design Engineer in Sharjah. The engineer evaluates tenders and inquiries, prepares techno-commercial proposals and expert designs, drawings, costings, SOWs, BOQs and reports, and ensures the best-optimized solution is offered to win each project. The role also covers technical process support for awarded projects and sales activities to acquire projects for municipal and industrial applications.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate tender documents and prepare optimized technical and commercial proposals.
• Prepare process designs, hydraulic calculations, P&IDs, equipment layouts and technical submittals.
• Undertake complete process and detailed hydraulic design for water treatment plants (RO, UF, DI, UV, disinfection, membrane technologies for water and wastewater).
• Prepare cost estimates, budgets and life-cycle cost analyses, and coordinate proposal submissions.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, suppliers and internal departments during bidding.
• Support project teams during execution, commissioning and troubleshooting.
• Identify innovative technologies and process improvements to strengthen project competitiveness.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.
• 3-5 years of post-qualification experience in the water and wastewater treatment industry.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of water (RO) and wastewater treatment processes.
• Process design, optimization and process simulation.
• Hydraulic calculations and engineering documentation.
• Equipment selection, RO and UF plant assembly, installation, testing and commissioning.
• Knowledge of international process engineering standards.
• Cost estimation and budgeting.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office.
