Risk Manager (Fin-tech & Microfinance)

About the role

Dawam Business Solutions is looking for a Risk Manager in Sheikh Zayed. The role identifies, assesses and mitigates risks that could affect the company's operations, financial performance or reputation, ensuring risk frameworks and controls fit company strategy and regulatory requirements, especially in the Fin-tech and Microfinance sectors. It reports directly to the CEO.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement risk management frameworks, policies and procedures covering financial, operational and compliance risks.
• Identify, assess and prioritize risks affecting business units and strategic initiatives, and set risk appetite and tolerance levels.
• Conduct regular risk assessments, build mitigation strategies and provide analysis reports and recommendations to the CEO and senior leadership.
• Monitor emerging risks in Fin-tech, Microfinance and Banking and suggest control improvements.
• Coordinate with internal departments so risk controls are built into business processes.
• Lead risk documentation and ensure compliance with laws, regulations and internal audit requirements.
• Support business continuity planning, crisis management and recovery strategies.
• Collaborate with external auditors, regulators and other stakeholders as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or a related field; Master's or professional certifications such as FRM, CFA or CERA preferred.
• 7 to 10 years of experience in Risk Management, including at least 3 years in a managerial role.
• Proven experience in Fin-tech, Microfinance or Banking.
• Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks and risk governance, and demonstrated ability to build risk management systems.
