Safety Officer - Hotel Resort

About the role

A Rixos resort in Ras Al Khaimah, part of Accor, is looking for a Safety Officer (listed as Security Officer) on a full-time permanent basis. The role covers developing and maintaining safety policies, leading safety training, investigating incidents and keeping the pool area clean and safe.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and maintain safety policies and procedures in line with local, national and international regulations.
• Carry out regular safety inspections, risk assessments and audits, and investigate accidents, incidents and near-misses with detailed reports and recommendations.
• Lead safety training for employees and act as the point of contact for all safety matters.
• Maintain accurate records of incidents, training, inspections and corrective actions, and ensure PPE is available and used properly.
• Collaborate with management on safety improvement plans and promote teamwork, giving honest feedback.
• Keep the pool area clean and maintain equipment and facilities so guests and staff stay safe.
• Disseminate information promptly, attend daily operational briefings, and stay familiar with emergency procedures and quality standards.
• Perform other duties assigned by management.

Required profile

• At least 2 years' experience in a similar Safety Officer or HSE role, preferably in luxury hospitality.
• Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety or a related field (preferred).
• Good communication skills in English, with the ability to train and guide employees.
• Attention to detail, problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to workplace safety.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a hotel environment.

Required skills

• Knowledge of health, safety and risk management regulations and best practices.
• Experience in safety inspections, risk assessments, audits and incident investigations.
• Ability to write clear safety reports, corrective action plans and compliance documentation.
• Knowledge of PPE requirements, emergency response procedures and safety training delivery.
