Health and Safety Officer - Security

About the role

A hotel in Ras Al Khaimah, part of the SO/ collection, is looking for a Health and Safety Officer focused on security. The role leads the security team, oversees security operations and keeps the property safe for guests and staff. It is a full-time permanent position.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and lead the security team, making sure everyone is trained, follows procedures and performs to a high standard.
• Oversee daily security operations, including surveillance, access control and alarm systems.
• Respond quickly to security incidents, emergencies or disturbances, investigate them, document them and prepare reports.
• Monitor CCTV and alarm systems and carry out regular patrols to spot potential risks.
• Maintain a visible presence on the property and assist guests and staff when needed.
• Lead emergency response during evacuations, first-aid events and fire drills.
• Train security personnel on procedures, emergency protocols and best practices.
• Keep accurate logs of incidents, suspicious activity and accidents, and report regularly to management.
• Work with housekeeping, maintenance and the front desk, especially around high-risk zones and special events.
• Ensure security systems work properly and that the property complies with local security laws, company policy and industry best practice.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; further qualifications in security management are a plus.
• Minimum 3-5 years of security experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role, preferably in hospitality or the luxury sector.
• Proven experience leading and managing a security team.
• Ability to stay calm and lead the team during emergencies.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, attention to detail, problem-solving and physical stamina for patrolling large areas.
• Courteous and professional attitude with guests and staff.

Required skills

• Strong working knowledge of CCTV, access control and alarm systems.
• Competence with security technologies and basic office software such as Word and Excel.
