Scaffolding Supervisor - Oil & Gas EPC Projects

About the role

Target Engineering is looking for an experienced Scaffolding Supervisor to lead and coordinate scaffolding activities across major UAE oil and gas EPC projects. The role ensures the safe erection, modification, inspection and dismantling of scaffolding while meeting project specifications, HSE requirements and industry best practice, driving productivity, quality and safety.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily scaffolding operations: erection, dismantling, alteration, tagging and inspection, allocating work to crews according to permits, method statements and priorities.
• Ensure scaffolds follow approved drawings, specifications and load-bearing requirements, and monitor progress, productivity and quality.
• Enforce HSE procedures, conduct toolbox talks, routine inspections and enforce scaffold tagging and access control; report unsafe conditions and near misses.
• Support client, third-party and internal inspections, audits and risk assessments.
• Control issuance, use and return of scaffolding materials and equipment, prevent wastage and coordinate with stores and logistics teams.
• Lead and supervise scaffolders and helpers, monitor working hours and discipline, maintain manpower records and timesheets, and mentor the crew.
• Maintain records of requests, inspections, handovers, permits and job cards, prepare daily, weekly and ad-hoc reports, update scaffold registers and permit-to-work documents.

Required profile

• 10-12 years of experience in scaffolding works on oil and gas, refinery, petrochemical or heavy industrial projects.
• Minimum 3 years in a supervisory role leading scaffolding teams.
• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Logistics, Operations Management or equivalent.
• CISRS, CITB or OSHA-approved Scaffolding Supervisor certification; additional HSE certifications are an advantage.
• Experience on major EPC projects in the UAE or Middle East is preferred.

Required skills

• Strong understanding of scaffolding systems, load requirements, inspection practices and work-at-height safety.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications and method statements.
• Leadership, planning, coordination, problem-solving, communication and reporting skills.
