SEN Teacher – Cycle 3 (Secondary)

About the role

The International Community Schools Al Danah campus is seeking an inspirational Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teacher for Cycle 3 (secondary). You will identify, assess and support students with diverse learning needs, ensuring they thrive within the British curriculum framework.

Key responsibilities

• Identify students requiring SEN support through assessments and liaise with parents, teachers and external specialists.
• Develop, implement and monitor Individual Education Plans (IEPs) aligned with the National Curriculum for England, IGCSE and A‑Level expectations.
• Deliver differentiated instruction and targeted interventions both in‑class and in withdrawal sessions.
• Collaborate with subject teachers to adapt curriculum content and provide necessary accommodations.
• Prepare and manage exam access arrangements for IGCSE and A‑Level examinations in line with JCQ guidelines.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress, interventions and communications.
• Contribute to safeguarding and the overall welfare of all students.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field.
• PGCE, B.Ed with QTS or equivalent British‑trained teaching qualification.
• Specialist qualification in SEN (e.g., NASENCO Award, Masters in Special Education).
• Minimum 3 years full‑time experience as a qualified SEN teacher or coordinator in a British curriculum school.
• Proven experience working with secondary‑age students with dyslexia, dyspraxia, ADHD, ASD and other special needs.

Required skills

• Expertise in developing and monitoring Individual Education Plans.
• Strong knowledge of the British curriculum (National Curriculum, IGCSE, A‑Levels).
• Ability to differentiate instruction and provide targeted interventions.
• Effective collaboration with teachers, parents and external specialists.
