SENCO - Abu Dhabi

About the role

An experienced SENCo is sought to join a client's school in Abu Dhabi. The ideal candidate has substantial experience in a school setting, particularly coordinating special educational needs programmes, and is passionate about supporting students with diverse learning needs.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and manage individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special educational needs.
• Work with teachers, parents and external specialists so that students receive appropriate support and interventions.
• Guide and train teaching staff on best practices for inclusive education.
• Assess and monitor student progress regularly and use data to inform decisions on their ongoing development.

Required profile

• Degree in Special Education or a related field.
• Previous experience as a SENCO, preferably with both IB and American curriculum schools.
• Familiarity with UAE education regulations and a track record of working with diverse student populations.
• Strong leadership and organizational skills.
• Under the age of 55 due to visa requirements, and able to start immediately.
