Senior Accountant – Education Institution

About the role

Aldar Education is looking for a Senior Accountant to join Bateen World Academy in Abu Dhabi. The role will oversee all financial operations of the school, ensuring accurate reporting, budgeting and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and control the school budget, monitor variances and provide regular updates.
• Close the books accurately and on time, including month‑end and year‑end processes.
• Produce and present Management Information System (MIS) reports to the Principal and Operations Senior Manager.
• Handle bank reconciliations, petty cash management and ensure proper cash controls.
• Review and approve purchase requisitions, ensuring budget availability and correct coding.
• Process supplier payments using 3‑way matching (invoice, PO, GRN) and perform due‑diligence checks.
• Reconcile supplier accounts and flag unreconciled items for corrective action.
• Manage asset creation, run depreciation, and close the Fixed Assets module monthly.
• Prepare monthly balance‑sheet schedules and support financial decision‑making.

Required profile

• Senior‑level accounting experience, preferably in an educational or similar institutional setting.
• Strong analytical mindset with a focus on accuracy and timeliness.
• Ability to act as the finance point of contact and coach junior staff.
