Senior Accountant

About the role

Huna Grand Hypermarket is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join its Finance team in Dubai. The role will manage core accounting functions, ensure strong internal controls, and maintain compliance with UAE regulatory requirements while supporting the financial governance of a large retail operation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly and year‑end financial closing processes and prepare financial statements.
• Maintain the General Ledger, perform account reconciliations and resolve variances.
• Oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, review supplier invoices and manage cash flow.
• Control procurement invoicing, verify purchase orders and monitor vendor payments.
• Manage inventory valuation, stock movement reconciliations and analyse Cost of Goods Sold.
• Monitor operational expenses, conduct financial analysis and recommend process improvements.
• Support budgeting, financial forecasting and cash‑flow planning.
• Assist internal and external audits and ensure compliance with UAE VAT and statutory requirements.

Required profile

• Proven experience in retail or hypermarket finance operations.
• Strong knowledge of UAE accounting standards and VAT regulations.
• Demonstrated ability to lead month‑end and year‑end closing cycles.
• Experience with inventory accounting and COGS monitoring.
