Senior Accountant - Revenue, Tax and Finance Operations

About the role

IdeaCrate is hiring a Senior Accountant in Abu Dhabi to ensure accurate revenue accounting, timely VAT and corporate tax compliance, effective banking coordination and controlled payroll and expense disbursements across the group. The role suits a hands-on finance professional who can independently manage reconciliations and tax compliance, investigate discrepancies, coordinate with internal and external stakeholders and report exceptions and corrective actions to management.

Key responsibilities

• VAT: prepare computations and schedules, reconcile with the general ledger, file returns and payments, handle input VAT refunds, review VAT claims and business practices, and coordinate registrations and audits with the Federal Tax Authority
• Corporate tax: prepare computations and annual returns, reconcile with financial statements, manage registrations via EmaraTax, track tax group eligibility, maintain tax loss schedules and transfer pricing documentation, and keep a tax compliance calendar
• Revenue: reconcile daily store POS revenue with bank settlements, card processor data and the general ledger, track unreconciled items and report to management
• Banking: coordinate KYC, account maintenance, signatories, cash deposit machines and EDC/card terminals, and review bank and merchant charges
• Payroll: verify HR payroll, prepare or validate WPS files, handle final settlements and incentives, and protect employee data
• Petty cash and Qashio card: review transactions, verify expense classification and VAT treatment, and produce monthly spending reports

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline; CA Inter, ACCA, CMA or equivalent preferred
• Typically 5-8 years of accounting experience, including at least 3 years in the UAE
• Hands-on experience with UAE VAT returns, refunds and corporate tax computations and filings
• Experience with corporate tax groups, tax loss schedules and transfer pricing strongly preferred
• Strong experience in POS-to-bank-to-GL reconciliation in a multi-location retail, hospitality or entertainment business

Required skills

• Working knowledge of WPS payroll and banking procedures
• Strong Excel, including PivotTables, lookup functions and large dataset reconciliation
• ERP and POS systems; familiarity with Odoo, Semnox and Qashio is an advantage
