Senior AI Specialist, Special Education

About the role

LinkX is recruiting on behalf of a Dubai school for people of determination, which uses AI and assistive technology to help students learn, communicate and build skills for independent living. As Senior AI Specialist, you will plan and deliver AI training in class, group and one-to-one sessions, train staff, support parents and mentor the AI team. The position is full time, permanent and onsite.

Key responsibilities

• Teach AI and digital skills to students of determination in group and individual sessions
• Select and use AI tools, apps, smart technology and accessibility features to meet each student's needs
• Build AI goals into each student's Individual Education Plan (IEP)
• Adapt lessons and use assistive technology to improve access to learning
• Teach digital literacy and online safety, and prepare students to use technology in education, work and daily life
• Work with classroom staff to bring AI into all routines and settings
• Maintain student records, attendance and session schedules, and prepare annual reports
• Communicate with parents through reports, meetings and the online diary, helping them use AI at home
• Mentor junior AI specialists and assistant special educators
• Lead AI department projects and help upskill school staff in AI
• Manage AI department equipment and inventory
• Ensure student safety, keep student information confidential and stay current with AI trends
• Take part in school activities and events, including fundraising when needed

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in special or inclusive education, disability rehabilitation or an education-focused company
• Education option 1: Bachelor's in AI, plus a Bachelor's in Assistive Technology, Rehab Sciences or Special Education; or option 2: BSc or BTech in Computer Science or IT with an AI major, plus a Bachelor's in Assistive Technology, Rehab Sciences or Special Education
• Preferred: Master's degree in AI, Computer Science or IT with an AI specialisation, and 3+ years of relevant experience
• Certifications in AI, Universal Design for Learning (UDL), Assistive Technology, Special Education, STEM education, or Apple, Microsoft or Google certifications are highly desirable
