Senior Backend Engineer – C# / AWS (Fintech)

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join our customer onboarding squad at a fast‑growing fintech in Abu Dhabi. You will own the core backend systems that drive the end‑to‑end customer journey, from registration through identity verification, compliance checks, and account activation.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build scalable backend services in C# that power the onboarding experience.
• Own the full feature lifecycle, from architecture decisions to production deployment.
• Collaborate with product, compliance, and frontend teams to deliver a seamless flow.
• Integrate third‑party KYC, AML, and identity verification providers.
• Ensure performance, security, and reliability at scale on AWS.
• Contribute to engineering standards, code reviews, and technical direction.

Required profile

• 5+ years of backend engineering experience with strong C# and .NET expertise.
• Solid experience with core AWS services (Lambda, RDS, SQS, S3, API Gateway).
• Background building financial or regulated platforms (fintech, banking, payments).
• Understanding of KYC/AML or customer onboarding flows is a strong advantage.
• Deep knowledge of microservices, REST APIs, and event‑driven architecture.
• Ownership mindset, clear communication, and focus on quality.
