Senior Backend Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to design and build production‑grade infrastructure for an AI‑driven transformation platform. You will create secure, high‑performance backend systems that connect Large Language Models with critical enterprise applications such as SAP S/4HANA and Ariba, supporting national‑defense‑grade use cases.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and implement the orchestration layer for AI agents, including task routing, state management, and error handling.
• Develop scalable, containerised micro‑services on the LeverEDGE platform using Python, Go or Java, optimized for high concurrency and low latency.
• Build a secure Data Access Layer for SAP S/4HANA and Ariba, enforcing validation and auditability before any transaction is committed.
• Design and deploy defense‑grade security services (authentication, RBAC, PII/ITAR redaction) and secure connection layers for the central data lakehouse.
• Integrate vector databases (Weaviate, Milvus) and Retrieval‑Augmented Generation models to power knowledge‑mining chatbots.

Required profile

• 5+ years of backend engineering experience building distributed systems that serve ML/AI models in production.
• Proven expertise with Python (FastAPI/Django) and strong experience in Go or Java for high‑performance micro‑services.
• Hands‑on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and on‑premise deployments, including air‑gapped environments.
• Background in designing RESTful APIs, gRPC services, and API gateways (Kong, NGINX) for secure traffic management.
• Experience delivering systems that meet high availability, auditability, and defense‑grade security requirements, preferably in fintech, healthcare, or defense.
