Senior Blockchain & DLT Engineer – Digital Asset Technologies

About the role

Virtusa is seeking a senior professional to lead the design and delivery of enterprise‑grade blockchain, distributed ledger technology (DLT) and digital‑asset solutions. The role focuses on building secure, scalable platforms for banking, financial services and fintech environments.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and implement permissioned and public blockchain solutions, including network design and smart‑contract deployment.
• Develop tokenization frameworks, wallet and custody architectures, and key‑management processes (MPC, HSM).
• Integrate blockchain platforms with existing APIs, middleware, and on‑chain/off‑chain systems.
• Produce solution architecture documents, technical design specifications, and deployment models.
• Support proof‑of‑concepts, workshops, design governance and implementation planning.

Required profile

• 10+ years of overall technology experience with at least 5 years in blockchain/DLT or digital‑asset technologies.
• Proven experience delivering secure, scalable solutions in regulated sectors such as banking or fintech.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field; Master’s degree is a plus.
• Relevant blockchain, cloud or security certifications are preferred.

Required skills

• Strong hands‑on experience with Hyperledger Fabric and other enterprise blockchain frameworks.
• Design and development of smart contracts and digital‑asset platforms.
• Deep knowledge of distributed ledger models, consensus mechanisms, node architecture and tokenization.
• Expertise in wallet/custody solutions, key‑management (MPC, HSM) and multi‑level approval workflows.
• API and middleware integration, security controls, reconciliation and transaction‑lifecycle design.
• Experience with cloud‑based blockchain deployment, DevSecOps and CI/CD pipelines.
