Senior Buyer - Procurement

About the role

Emirates Flight Catering Co (L.L.C) is hiring a Senior Buyer in Dubai. The role covers end-to-end procurement: preparing and evaluating tenders, reviewing purchase requisitions, negotiating with suppliers, managing contracts and building supplier relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Independently prepare, execute and evaluate tenders while ensuring procurement procedures and policies are followed.
• Receive and review purchase requisitions from all divisions and act on them subject to available approvals.
• Negotiate with suppliers, create award recommendation reports, implement contracts and negotiate purchase order prices, terms and conditions.
• Acquire quotations, compare quality, quantity, price and delivery time, and place orders with the best supplier.
• Visit suppliers to evaluate product offerings, quality and operating standards, then recommend current and future requirements.
• Resolve daily correspondence and conflicts with suppliers over delivery and product quality, and develop supplier relationships so they remain a preferred client.
• Liaise with procurement specialists and managers on sourcing projects when needed.
• Keep market prices up to date, maintain supplier and product records, and carry out market research to introduce potential suppliers.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Procurement/Supply, Business or a related field (mandatory).
• Diploma or certification in Procurement & Supply or Contracts (preferred).
• 5 years of experience in a relevant sector, including a previous procurement or category management position.
• Familiarity with sourcing and vendor management, and knowledge of contractual terms and conditions.
• Prior procurement experience in the food or catering industry.

Required skills

• Strong negotiation skills and ability to work under pressure.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages.
• Fluent spoken and written English, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of procurement e-sourcing tools.
• Strong planning, organisation and time-management skills.
