Senior Chiller Installation & Service Technician

About the role

WAHA AIR is seeking a Senior Chiller Installation and Service Technician to join its HVAC team in Dubai. The professional will manage the full life‑cycle of air‑cooled and water‑cooled chiller systems, from installation through commissioning, troubleshooting, repair and final hand‑over.

Key responsibilities

• Install, test, commission and start‑up air‑cooled and water‑cooled chillers.
• Perform routine servicing, preventive maintenance and emergency breakdown repairs.
• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, refrigeration and control faults and execute corrective actions.
• Replace and align compressors, conduct oil charging and analysis, and handle refrigerant recovery, leak detection and charging.
• Maintain associated equipment such as pumps, expansion tanks, AHUs, FCUs, cooling towers, valves, sensors and VFDs.
• Program and integrate chiller control panels, HMI interfaces, PLC‑based controls and BMS systems.
• Conduct performance testing, optimization and root‑cause analysis to achieve design efficiency.
• Prepare detailed service reports and technical documentation.

Required profile

• 5–10 years of proven experience with VRF and chiller systems.
• Hands‑on experience with major HVAC brands (Mitsubishi Electric, Daikin, Carrier, Midea, O General, York, Trane).
• Ability to work independently on projects from installation to hand‑over.
• Preference for candidates currently not employed elsewhere.

Required skills

• Installation, commissioning and maintenance of screw, scroll, centrifugal and reciprocating chillers.
• Knowledge of chilled‑water and condenser‑water circuits, pumps, expansion tanks, AHUs, FCUs and cooling towers.
• PLC programming, HMI operation and BMS integration.
• Refrigerant handling, oil analysis and compressor replacement.
• Electrical component replacement (fans, motors, bearings, VFDs, sensors, relays).
• Heat‑exchanger cleaning, tube cleaning and condenser coil cleaning.
• Calibration of pressure, temperature and flow sensors.
• Root‑cause analysis and preparation of technical service reports.
