Senior Consultant

About the role

MBG Corporate Services is looking for a Senior Consultant to deliver accounting, VAT and financial advisory services to its multinational client portfolio. The role involves supporting clients across Asia, Europe and the Middle East with compliance, reporting and strategic tax matters.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate accounting records and prepare financial statements.
• Handle bookkeeping, accounts payable, accounts receivable and bank reconciliations.
• Prepare and file VAT returns in line with local tax regulations.
• Advise clients on VAT registration, deregistration, refunds and compliance requirements.
• Assist clients during VAT audits and tax assessments.
• Support month‑end and year‑end closing activities.
• Prepare management reports and financial analysis.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS/local accounting standards and applicable tax laws.
• Monitor changes in VAT and tax legislation and advise clients accordingly.
• Assist Mandarin‑speaking clients with accounting, taxation and financial matters.
• Coordinate with auditors, banks and government authorities when required.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related field.
• Professional qualification (CPA, ACCA, CMA or equivalent) preferred.
• 3–5 years of accounting and VAT consulting experience.
• Strong knowledge of VAT regulations.
• Experience working with Chinese companies or multinational organisations is an advantage.
• Fluency in Mandarin and English (spoken and written).

Required skills

• Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Tally, SAP, Oracle or Zoho Books.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
