Senior Cost Control Engineer

About the role

The Senior Cost Control Engineer will provide centralized cost control, budgeting, forecasting and reporting support across all CPO projects and departmental initiatives. This role ensures consistent cost management, performance monitoring and executive reporting within the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Lead cost control activities across all assigned projects and department portfolios.
• Develop, maintain and monitor project budgets, forecasts, commitments and expenditures.
• Prepare and consolidate monthly department cost reports, dashboards and management presentations.
• Monitor project cost performance, identify variances, trends and potential risks.
• Support preparation of annual budgets, business plans and periodic forecast updates.
• Coordinate with Project Managers, Project Controls, Finance, Contracts and Engineering teams to ensure cost data accuracy.
• Review project funding requirements and monitor budget utilisation.
• Develop cost performance indicators and reporting metrics for management decision‑making.
• Maintain project cost breakdown structures, cost coding and reporting standards.
• Support Earned Value Management, cash‑flow forecasting and Estimate at Completion development.
• Provide cost analysis and recommendations to improve cost efficiency and budget performance.
• Support executive‑level reporting, governance meetings and portfolio reviews.
• Maintain cost control procedures, templates and reporting tools for all departmental projects.
• Assist with audits, management reviews and corporate reporting requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, quantity surveying, finance, cost engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of cost control, project controls, budgeting and forecasting experience on large capital projects, infrastructure, EPC or major construction programmes.
